There was a time when I was around the age of 10, when we came to pick up a take-away on the way back home after school. Dad stood by the food stand waiting for our food. Like usual, I waited on the scooter. That afternoon, I decided to slide down to the front seat to feel what it was like to be a scooter driver. I held the throttles and rolled them. Dad didn't switch off the engine when he left the scooter. The wheels spun while the scooter was on its centre stand. The sudden engine sound towards the food stand frightened me and the people around it. Dad apologised to the food stand owner and the customers. He walked back to the scooter and switched off its engine. "It's very dangerous," he said, "don't play with the scooter." I can't recall if he said anything else. He was upset about my misbehaviour, but normally he wouldn't be angry at me.
