Biography

Aki Pao-Chen Chiu is a visual artist. Chiu was born in Taiwan. She completed her PhD in Fine Art in 2022 and MA in Sculpture in 2017 at the Royal College of Art (London). Chiu received her BFA from the National Taiwan University of Fine Arts in 2009.

Chiu’s moving image and installation practice explores the intersection of identities, languages and cultures, and how they sculpt everyday experience.

Chiu’s works have exhibited internationally. She has been shortlisted for ARTAGON.III and the Newly Emerging Artists in Taiwan 3D Creation Series. She was awarded residency in Copenhagen, Denmark (Fabrikken). Chiu has also participated in public art projects such as Play on Street by JFAA.
